If you are an adult with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and live in the UK or US, take this short 10 minute survey to help researchers better understand the mental health challenges of people with diabetes.

Study Name: Diabetes Mental Health Survey

Diabetes Type: Adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes

Why is this study new and important?

Researchers know that the risks of mental health challenges are higher among people with diabetes. While mental health screening has begun to increase in healthcare practices, and specifically in diabetes clinics, this type of screening is still not widespread. Additionally, not enough is known about people’s experiences talking about mental health with their providers or what support they would find useful from their healthcare team.

The goal of the study is to determine the awareness, understanding, and comfort around mental health issues of people with diabetes. This will help the researchers determine potential areas for increased education and support. Additionally, this survey will help researchers understand the mental health needs of people with diabetes to help determine how providers can best discuss this topic with them.

What is the study measuring?

This study requires participants to complete an anonymous online survey that will take around 10-15 minutes. The survey will include multiple choice and short answer questions on the perspectives of people with diabetes on mental health issues in diabetes care and what recommendations they have for improved support within the diabetes care setting.

Study Length: Roughly 10-15 minutes

Study Locations: This study includes an online survey and can be taken by any eligible person within the UK or the US, so long as you have an internet connection.
