She is an award-winning health and science editor with over 15 years of experience covering medical news in 30+ specialty areas for both healthcare professionals and general readers. She previously served as Senior Editor for Medscape Diabetes & Endocrinology, where she led the production of the site’s award-winning features, expert perspectives, and multimedia content from the world’s leading endocrinologists. She is passionate about racial justice and equity, social determinants of health, and how these factors affect the health of people living in marginalized, underserved communities.
Eugenia holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Clark University. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Mike, and their three children, Matthew, Alice, and Lucy. When she’s not shuttling her children around to their various activities, she can be found reading, practicing yoga, or sharing a belly laugh with her husband.
