Susannah Chen

Susannah Chen is a freelance writer and editorial content strategist focused on food, drink, travel, and lifestyle. Prior to joining The diaTribe Foundation as a managing editor, she embarked on a midlife health journey involving gestational diabetes, pancreatitis, a postpartum type 2 diabetes diagnosis, and ultimately a type 1 diabetes diagnosis. This led her to a new pursuit: diabetes education and advocacy. She is particularly interested in empowering the newly diagnosed, reducing diabetes stigma, and addressing the social, emotional, and psychological barriers associated with all types of diabetes, a condition that touches the lives of all Americans.
