Sanofi Increases Patient Access to Medication During COVID-19

Sanofi is giving access to a 30-day supply of medicine for those waiting for their Patient Connection program application to be processed

Sanofi announced a temporary assistance program to increase access to its medications in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an expansion of their patient assistance program which offers some of Sanofi’s medicines at no-cost for eligible customers. The update allows people who are eligible to receive a 30-day supply of medication while their application for the patient assistance program is being processed. This is the first program diaTribe has seen to offer access to medicine (including insulin) while people wait to be approved for the financial assistance program.

To qualify, you must:

  • Live in the US,

  • Be uninsured or not have insurance coverage for your specific medicine,

  • Have an active prescription for the following medicines: Adlyxin, Admelog, Apidra, Lantus, Multaq, Soliqua, Toujeo.

In addition to the temporary assistance program, Sanofi changed its pre-existing patient assistance program to:

  • Allow early prescription refills.

  • Expand the acceptable proof-of-income documents.

  • Extend the temporary patient assistance program from 90 days to 180 days. This program is for those who meet all eligibility requirements for the patient assistance program but who may also be Medicaid eligible and are waiting for a response letter.

Sanofi also has other assistance programs in place. This includes co-pay assistance programs that limit out of pocket expenses for Adlyxin, Apidra, Lantus, Toujeo, and Soliqua 100/33 to $10 for those with commercial insurance. It also includes the Insulin Valyou Savings Program which makes up to ten vials or ten boxes of pens available for $99 a month for people who are uninsured (Lantus, Toujeo, Admelog, and Apidra are all eligible).
