What Does Access to Diabetes Care Mean to You?

For National Diabetes Awareness and Prevention Month, we asked members of the diaTribe community what access to care means to them. You can check out all of their responses here.

Diabetes management can be a challenge – it takes time, money, energy, and other resources to care for one’s diabetes. Everyone has varying degrees of access to these resources, and some people may value financial resources over educational ones.

However, with proper access to care, people can better manage their condition and live happier and healthier lives. Access to care means something a little different to everyone. So, whether it means the ability to afford medications or not having to worry about being judged, everyone with diabetes should have full potential to adequately care for their diabetes without facing barriers.
