Join New Study on How To Manage Exercise With Type 1 Diabetes

If you are an adult with type 1 diabetes, you may be eligible for a study focused on educational information for blood sugar management during exercise.
Status: Recruiting
Study Name: EDGE: Educational Diabetes Guidance for Exercise
Diabetes Type: Type 1 diabetes
Sponsor: Jaeb Center for Health Research
Why is this study important?
The EDGE study is exploring how education about exercise can help adults with type 1 diabetes better manage their health. Physical activity is a crucial part of diabetes management, helping to lower glucose levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and prevent long-term complications. Learning how to improve blood sugar management during exercise not only makes getting regular physical activity easier, but it can also boost confidence, reduce the fear and impact of blood sugar swings, and make movement more enjoyable for people with type 1 diabetes.
How does the study work?
EDGE is an online study that lasts three to six months. During the study, participants will be asked to complete questionnaires online, share their continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, wear a physical activity tracker, and review educational information about exercise and type 1 diabetes. Compensation for participation is available.
Are you interested in participating?
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Are 18 years or older and have had type 1 diabetes for at least one year
- Are physically active at least two days a week
- Regularly use a Dexcom G6/G7 or Medtronic Guardian 4 CGM
- Have a smartphone and access to a computer
- Are willing to use an activity tracking wristband
