Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD, FACP
Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Joslin Diabetes Center;
Former Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of the American Diabetes Association (ADA)
Throughout his vibrant career Dr. Gabbay has had many accomplishments as a basic science researcher, developer of patient communication tools, creator of the first broad scale diabetes registry, designer of care management training programs, digital health innovations, and leader of one of the largest primary care transformation efforts in the US around the Patient Centered Medical Home. Dr. Gabbay has served as visiting professor, keynote speaker, and on organizing committees for global meetings of the ADA, International Diabetes Federation, Endocrine Society, and the Diabetes Technology Society. He has appeared in and is frequently quoted by the press, including the New York Times, CNN, the Washington Post, and NPR. At the ADA, Dr. Gabbay led many initiatives to transform diabetes care. These include reinvigorating the Standards of Care, expanding in partnership with CDC the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), establishing the Primary Care Council and the ADA Primary Care Alliance, and leading innovation at the ADA Scientific Sessions. Dr. Gabbay also reaches people with diabetes with his YouTube program Ask Dr. Bob.

Jennifer Green, MD
Professor of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology
Duke Clinical Research Institute, Duke University School of Medicine
Dr. Green is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at Duke University and a faculty member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). Dr. Green’s research has focused upon strategies to treat diabetes mellitus and reduce the risk of cardiovascular, kidney and other complications. She is an Executive Committee Member for GRADE, a federally-funded, long-term comparative effectiveness study of glucose-lowering medications for T2D, and has held clinical and operational leadership roles in numerous large, international trials designed to determine the CV effects of newer glucose-lowering medications (including TECOS, EXSCEL, and Harmony Outcomes). She is Executive Committee member, PI of the US coordinating center at DCRI, and US national representative for the global EMPA-Kidney and EASi-Kidney trials. Dr. Green has also held multiple roles with the American Diabetes Association (ADA), including serving for several years on the organization’s Professional Practice Committee and as a member of the ADA-EASD consensus statement writing group. She is currently an Associate Editor of Diabetes Care.
Thishi Surendranathan, MD
Director in Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Medical Affairs at Boehringer Ingelheim
Over his time in industry Dr. Thishi Surendranathan has focused mainly on scientific/HCP engagement, medical education, evidence generation, and digital medical initiatives. He is a trained physician and holds an undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK. He undertook his medical training at University College London and then completed internal medicine training across various university teaching hospitals in London, covering cardiology, renal medicine, as well as primary care / general practice. He gained broad-ranging strategic and operational experience as a management consultant at KPMG in London, advising mainly healthcare providers in the UK and internationally before focusing on life sciences clients, including large pharmaceutical companies. He also went on to work for a medical affairs consultancy supporting a range of pharmaceutical products and clients. Thishi started his industry career at Sanofi in the UK as a Medical Advisor in Immunology before moving to Global Medical Affairs and relocating to the United States.

Diana Isaacs, PharmD, BCPS, BC-ADM, BCACP, CDCES, FADCES, FCCP
Director of Education and Training in Diabetes Technology at the Cleveland Clinic
An endocrine clinical pharmacy specialist and the Director of Education and Training in Diabetes Technology at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Isaacs earned her PharmD from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Philadelphia VA. Dr. Isaacs serves in leadership roles for several pharmacy and diabetes organizations. She served on the ADA Professional Practice Committee for 2020-2023, the committee that updates the ADA Standards of Care. She is a national board member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). Dr. Isaacs was awarded the Ohio Pharmacists Association Under 40 Award in 2019 and was the 2020 ADCES Diabetes Care and Education Specialist of the Year. In 2022, she was inducted into the SIUE Hall of Fame for her far-reaching contributions in patient care.
